I have great childhood memories of playing this game with family and friends, so was keen to purchase it for my child. It is exactly how I remember it, a robust and engaging game! Very simple instructions to follow and great for teaching children about turn-taking! It’s so much fun watching my daughter giggle when the pirate pops out, giving her a fright! Definitely recommended for some family fun with young children.

Brilliant game for my pre-schooler. He has a blast playing this. It teaches him to take turns, identify colours and he screams with excitement when the pirate pops!! Lots of fun.

I think it’s a little boring after a while – fun at first but I find it’s a bit tricky for younger kids to push the swords in in the slots lower down as it’s not clear when it’s fully pushed in or not.Also think (as an adult) it’s a little morbid – my 5 y.o. daughter did ask why we’re pushing swords into the poor pirate, contrast with my 2 y.o daughter who wanted to put all the swords in as quickly as possible.Once ol’ pirate has popped out a few times the novelty wears off. It’s already back in its box ready no doubt for a future resale 🙁

Playing this with my son was such nostalgia and we all absolutely loved it. He’s played this with all the grandparents and cousins and everyone loves it. It’s just great fun and can’t fault it at all. The dinosaur element is a fun addition for anyone who has dinosaur lovers.
