Cookie Policy

Last updated: 12 October 2026

1. About this policy

This Cookie Policy explains how GizaVerma uses cookies and other storage and access technologies on gizaverma.com.

GizaVerma is operated by Alan Victor Services Ltd. For privacy questions, contact support@gizaverma.com.

The UK rules cover more than traditional cookies. They can also apply to technologies such as web storage, pixels, scripts, tags, link decoration and device-access techniques.

2. Our approach

We divide storage and access technologies according to their purpose.

  • Strictly necessary / communications technologies: used where essential to provide a service you request, transmit communications, keep the Site secure, maintain a basket or session, or remember a consent choice where the legal exception applies.
  • Statistical technologies: used solely to understand how the Site or service is used with a view to improving it. We will rely on the statutory statistical-purpose exception only where all legal conditions are met, including clear information, a simple free means to object and appropriate aggregation/retention controls. Otherwise we will ask for consent.
  • Appearance or functionality technologies: used solely to adapt the Site’s appearance or functionality to your preference. We will rely on the legal exception only where its conditions are met, including the required information and simple free means to object. Otherwise we will ask for consent.
  • Advertising, affiliate-measurement or cross-site tracking technologies: where a technology requires consent, it will not be used before valid consent. Advertising-related storage/access is not treated as strictly necessary merely because it helps fund the Site.

3. Consent where required

Where consent is required, we will ask for it before using the relevant non-exempt technology.

If we introduce technologies that need consent, our consent mechanism will:

  • make it as easy to reject non-exempt technologies as to accept them;
  • require a positive action for consent;
  • offer meaningful choices by purpose where appropriate;
  • identify relevant third parties or make that information readily accessible;
  • respect the choice technically; and
  • allow consent to be withdrawn as easily as it was given.

Simply continuing to browse the Site is not treated as consent to technologies that legally require consent.

4. Technologies currently used

Our most recent check of gizaverma.com, on 12 October 2026, found that the Site sets no cookies for visitors who browse its pages, and loads no third-party scripts, pixels or tracking technologies. The storage the Site can use is listed below. All of it is strictly necessary for a service you ask for, so we do not ask for consent and there is no cookie banner.

  • wpEmojiSettingsSupports (browser session storage, not a cookie). Set by WordPress, first-party. Remembers whether your browser can show emoji, so pages display correctly. Strictly necessary. How long: until you close the tab.
  • woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart, wp_woocommerce_session_*. Set by WooCommerce, first-party. Keep a shopping basket working. Strictly necessary. How long: only set if you add an item to a basket; up to 2 days.
  • wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*, wordpress_test_cookie. Set by WordPress, first-party. Keep you logged in to an account. Strictly necessary. How long: only set when you log in; until you log out, or up to 14 days.

5. WooCommerce, account and basket functions

When account, basket or checkout functions are active, WordPress/WooCommerce may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary to maintain sessions, remember basket contents, support account login, prevent fraud or complete checkout.

A technology is treated as exempt only where its actual purpose satisfies a legal exception. If a plugin uses the same identifier for additional non-exempt purposes, the exemption may not cover those additional purposes.

6. Amazon affiliate links

Clicking a “View on Amazon” or similar affiliate link takes you to amazon.co.uk. Amazon is a separate website and may set or access technologies under its own policies.

GizaVerma does not place an Amazon cookie on your device merely by stating that a link is an affiliate link. No third-party scripts, pixels, embedded content or tracking technologies currently run on gizaverma.com. If we add any that require consent, we will block them until valid consent is obtained.

7. Analytics

We do not currently use analytics on the Site.

If we use analytics that satisfy the UK statistical-purpose exception, we will provide clear information and a simple free way to object, and we will ensure the information is used only for qualifying statistical purposes and aggregated as required.

If our analytics setup does not satisfy that exception, we will obtain consent before using it.

8. Changing your choice

The Site does not currently use any technology that requires consent, so there is no cookie-settings control. If that changes, we will provide an accessible way to review or change your choice, for example through a cookie-settings control in the site footer.

You can also use browser controls, but browser settings do not replace our obligation to obtain consent where consent is legally required.

9. Changes

We will update this policy when the technologies used by the Site change or when legal requirements change. We re-check the Site after significant plugin, advertising, analytics, checkout or consent-management changes.
